Parks, Trails, and Open Space

The people of Castle Pines entrust CPNMD’s board of directors and in-house professional horticulturists with stewardship responsibilities for the community’s beautiful network of outdoor parks, trails, and open space amenities west of I-25. The outdoor amenities include:

• 352 acres of open space;
• Fourteen miles of 8-foot wide trails; and
• Three parks including Coyote Ridge Park, The Retreat Park, and Daniels Gate Park.

Trail maps posted throughout the community help residents navigate our network of open space amenities.

Together these amenities provide natural buffers and native habitat for wildlife. They also enhance the quality of life for all residents, strengthen property values, and make our community an exceptional place to live.

We recognize the unique value of these open space assets and take our stewardship responsibilities seriously. For the health and safety of all residents, we respectfully insist that dog owners pick up and properly dispose of their dog’s waste immediately. We strictly prohibit horseback riding and all motorized vehicles (gas or electric) on CPNMD’s parks, trails, and open space.

Coyote Ridge Park

Coyote Ridge Park Improvements, Phases 1, 2 & 3

Coyote Ridge Park is the community’s largest park, with three unique areas inside its 15 acres. Opened in 2001, residents enjoy these features:

• Upper park - baseball fields
• Lower park - a multi-purpose field (football/soccer/lacrosse/volleyball)
• Skate park - skateboard facility with shaded pavilions and picnic tables
• 2 Basketball courts (90' x 56' each)
• Playground with 3 covered picnic pavilions & BBQ grills

Coyote Ridge Park is located Northeast of Monarch Boulevard and Hidden Pointe Boulevard.

Retreat Park

Built as part of the original development of Castle Pines North in the 1980's, The Retreat Park features 5 acres with the following areas:

• Large playground area with picnic areas and a covered shelter
• Playground with a covered picnic pavilion & BBQ grill
• Multi-purpose field (football/soccer/lacrosse/volleyball)
• Baseball practice field
• Walking trail

The park is located on Tangleoak Drive, in the Retreat neighborhood.

Daniel’s Gate Park

Since 2001, the two-acre Daniel’s Gate Park has provided enjoyment for all ages. The park offers residents and visitors distinct areas for various activities; these include:

• Multi-purpose grass playing field (football/soccer/lacrosse/volleyball)
• Playground with infant and toddler swings
• Shaded gazebo

Daniel’s Gate Park can be accessed at Grigs Road near Turquoise Terrace Street, the park is located on the north side of the Turquoise Terrace neighborhood.

Parks

All three parks have restrooms, benches, drinking fountains, and parking.

Park hours:

• 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., from April 1st through October 31^st
• 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., from November 1^st through March 31^st

Please keep your dog(s) leashed and promptly dispose of their waste in a trash container.

Playgrounds Open - Use At Your Own Risk

Use the playgrounds at your own risk and on the following conditions:

1. Playground users need to bring their own hand sanitizer and apply it immediately before and after
touching playground equipment;
2. No more than ten people at a time may use each playground; and
3. Maintain a minimum six-feet of social distancing.
