About Castle Pines North Metropolitan District

Overview

Established in 1984, the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District (CPNMD) is a Title 32 Special District located in Douglas County, Colorado. CPNMD provides the community’s water & wastewater utilities, maintains the storm drainage system, and has fiduciary and stewardship responsibilities for 352 acres of open space, fourteen miles of trails, and three parks, including Coyote Ridge Park, Daniels Gate Park, and The Retreat Park. CPNMD serves approximately 3,500 residential and commercial customers in Castle Pines — about 11,000 residents — west of I-25.

Mission Statement

To provide high-quality, clean, safe, reliable, on-demand drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, parks, trails, and open space services to the people of Castle Pines at the lowest possible cost.

  • Core Objective #1: Securing our community’s renewable water future wisely and at less cost than the voter-rejected plans of 2016 and 2018;

  • Core Objective #2: Ensuring that the people of Castle Pines will continue to enjoy clean, safe, reliable, on-demand drinking water and wastewater treatment services, in perpetuity, at the lowest possible cost;

  • Core Objective #3: Ensuring the people of Castle Pines will continue to enjoy clean, safe, reliable stormwater, parks, trails, and open-space services, in perpetuity, and at the lowest possible cost; and

  • Core Objective #4: Maximizing efficiencies and economies of scale in all service areas.
